I had stored that PDF file in my email, which was wiped clean when I switched e-mail providers. Now, a friend of mine has bought a rifle with a Lyman STS scope, and would like a copy. Anybody out there have a copy they can e-mail PM me if you do, and Ill provide my email address. If anyone has one Id sure appreciate getting my hands on a copy. I sold all mine and didnt have any problem at all getting these prices out of them Steve. I have a question and I suspect someone here knows the answer. First, I guess I should introduce myslelf and give you some background on the question. My weapon of choice (unless hunting big game) was a Marlin Golden lever action.22. Still have that rifle but cant see the sights anymore. Conservatively Ill bet I put at least 50,000 rounds through that rifle and after all that shooting I could hit what I was shooting at. Mostly gophers. Anyway, while living in Montana my dad didnt so much collect guns, he just acquired them. I left Montana after high school and ended up in college in Texas. I remember being shocked at the fact that Texas is almost all privately owned as opposed to Montana where you could find a place to shoot in about 5 minutes in any direction. My parents left Montana in 1973 and all my dads guns left with him. Late last year I moved them into a much smaller place and absconded with his guns as he didnt use them and I couldnt stand seeing them go into storage. ![]() I havent measured it but he tells me its a bull and hes almost always right. I recall shooting it a few times in Montana but remember thinking it was too heavy to lug around and shoot gophers with so I stuck with my Marlin. Plus the open sights on the Marlin gave me a much quicker target acquisition. The rifle and scope had been in a case, unopened since at least 1972. I took it out 3 weeks ago, dusted it off and took it to the range. Decided Id better start at 25 yards since I had no idea where my bullets might go. Shot off sand bags and ed if the first shot wasnt a bullseye. Since I hadnt shot a rifle in the last 30 or so years (other than shooting a deer or two) I was a little rusty.
